Medieval Europe

The most influential time period of Christianity onto hospital healthcare was during Medieval Europe. When this period thrived from the 5th century to the 15th century, multiple different structures of hospitals developed throughout Europe, particularly in Spain and Paris. The direction being done by religious figures of churches and of Christianity were the major drive of hospitals such as Hospitia in Spain and Hotel Dieu and Les Invalidades in Paris.

There is a continuation and encouragement to continue the religious tradition of providing essentials to the needy and curing others. We see this trend of Christian figures in Medieval Europe following the ways of Jesus Christ, the Messiah.
